pps. apologies for the delay.. to anon who asked (probably quite some time ago!), I read somewhere it’s pronounced ‘la-la-guee’ like ‘valerie’ but I’ve only ever seen the name on paper (floating city in Invisble Cities). In my head I always pronounce it with the soft G (‘gee whiz’)
This is my favorite of the two stories in the little book I made for Art for Grabs / CF last year, am putting it online because I will take a long time to get it reprinted and it wasn’t doing much good sitting in my hard drive. Um let me know if you would like a copy :D; that would help me estimate how many to print, hopefully better than the first time around. Thanks to everyone who bought it at CF and also asked me to hold you a copy or two of the reprint ;_; I’m sorry I didn’t estimate very well for CF.

Test colours for a short story based on an old legend about a moon princess and her archer/king husband. They were really hard to draw but after drawing this I realized I could cast Tony Leung and Maggie Cheung as them. I will do so from now on.

This has been a major adventure in How Not To Layout & Print A Book, especially for someone already of a somewhat nervous disposition. But it is almost over! I will make a proper pimping post tonight about all the bling at our CF booth and how to get hold of it if you are unable to attend
(If you are in KL you should attend though because we are planning to eat like Malaysians after the event and there is no way I can ship that part of the experience to you)
“Drops in the ocean” tentative front and back cover
Large portions of dialogue to be rewritten, opening bw pages to be drawn, large double page color spread to be majorly touched up, front cover changes if time, also anxiously awaiting printing shop to reply with whether or not my random color pages can be printed in colour.. Hopefully there is some miracle by which everything can be printed in less than eight working days.
12 days to Comic Fiesta and counting..
Sample page of the comic that is killing me. Status: 7/20(??) pages done (really ‘done done’), not including two colour centrespreads, not including determining fishes of species one would logically put together in an aquarium, not including cover. There are less than two weeks left before I need to travel. I have to work most of those days. I am in denial.

wip / preview of the whale shark comic that will with luck be done in time for CF. (the whale sharks are inside the blue building)
had 32 pages of this drafted then decided to scrap it and make a new and reduced version!! which then devolved into a hideous architectural nightmare. also drawing the whale sharks is not as as much fun as I had thought, I forgot there are lots of other fish in the tank with them. this whole thing is turning out to be a nightmare
