Where is my uncle? Part 1
Hiragumo was a real teapot who existed in the 16th century and was tragically blown up by some guy (Matsunaga Hisahide) because he didn’t want to give it to some other guy (Oda Nobunaga). In Sengoku Basara 3 Utage, Hisahide is inspired to go on a rampage because Hiragumo cracks and breaks (;_;) we never see the actual teapot but Hisahide actually carries a piece of it around and talks to it for a bit.
In the Mirage of Blaze glossary* it is noted that Hiragumo became a spider youkai who went around people’s houses drinking standing water and eating smaller youkai. I’m not sure if this was Mizuna Kawabara’s invention or an actual legend, but the image of a spider teapot was too.. unbearably.. cute
*THANK YOU SABINA I am sorry I keep inflicting Hisahide’s teapot on you years later

Very few of Moebius’ contemporaries within the European comics scene rival him in terms of skill of craft and level of influence. The most important of those might be Hugo Pratt(aside from Hergé, maybe), which is why I am so excited that his first Corto Maltese book, The Ballad of the Salt Sea, is FINALLY once again going to be published in English.
Corto Maltese is one of the greatest comics ever made, written and illustrated by a true master of the form. The Ballad of the Salt Sea will be released on March 13, 2012 from Universe Books, and I want to get as much buzz going as possible about this. Tell your friends.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

This took a while because I kept stopping to read up the actual biography of each Sengoku daimyo / general / fictional character represented above. As I was just trying to find out exactly where the story about Hisahide blowing his teapot (and head) up came from, this was not exactly as planned

Maxed out Lu Meng and Ma Dai over the weekend. Best arena match for farming stats is def the flowers of chaos stage so both of them “reached the pinnacle of beauty” many, many times.. An achievement worthy of the finest shiraz and Gouda. (Wenhe stop stuffing your face; you are next)
Also I just saw this question in my inbox, sorry for the late reply but I will definitely make a new comic for this year’s CF :) Which reminds me I really need to chase the printer for that second batch of Drops books I’d promised! sorry to keep everyone who has emailed me about it waiting ;;

Last week Koei did up a DW-style design of Guo Jia / Fengxiao in response to a Famitsu poll where readers voted him their #1 most wanted addition to the series. A rose among ossans. (Zhang He is technically a butterfly and every time I look at Cao Pi I see a frog)
As for what his personality should be like I hope Koei refer to this comic

This weekend, I watched Gintama for the first time with amei. This was the first thing I felt I must draw and get out of my system, and sums up my deep feelings for this series.
edit: Forgot to add that this also came about after I found out the same seiyuu does all three of their voices lmao
All my feelings condensed into one beautiful picture with the perfect Modest Mouse quote sob
